2013 Competition

At the culmination of the two day event, Soldier Hollow Charter School was pronounced the overall winning team for the 2013 Utah Envirothon competition. They were accompanied by their advisor, Kelly Gallo, left side of picture. Next to Kelly is Bryn Dayton, Stella Trincado, Sierra Curtis and Sierra Enos. Ian Lowell was absent for the picture. The team will advance to the North American Envirothon event held at Bozeman, Montana in August.

Winning the FFA first place award was the Sky View team lead by Dave Erickson. Pictured with the state FFA president, from left to right, are Janessa Christensen, Katie Ann Erickson, Jake Goodsell, Madelyn Kunzler, and Kaycee Goodrich. The team will attend the national FFA natural resouce comptetition in Indianapolis in October.

Second place overall goes to the other Sky View team. Pictured left to right, Kohl Yocum, Hailey Hansen, Tyler Curtis, Brad Ashcroft, Brennan Evans, and advisor, Dave Erickson.

 

Third place team was Salem Hills High School. Pictured left to right are Sydney Shuler, Caitlin Peers, Elisabeth Haun, Justus Thomas, and Sierra King. Brad Shuler is their advisor.

Oral presentations were held at the Snow College campus in Richfield. The next day students gathered at Fremont Indian State Park, Sam Stowe campground. Ideal weather and a beautiful surrounding made for an enjoyable event.
